The 620-D adjustable sliding vent cover, along with the 622-D inlet vent cover, is included in all of our indoor sauna kit packages. Ventilation in saunas plays a critical role for several reasons: it helps distribute heat evenly, introduces fresh air for breathing, and significantly enhances the sauna experience. There are various approaches to sauna ventilation. Mechanical venting is one of them, with convectional venting being the most popular method. With convectional venting, we use gravity to bring fresh air in and expel hot air out, creating a natural air channel in the sauna room. Some opt for a simple setup with one inlet and one outlet vent—one low near the heater and the other high on the opposite wall. Others prefer three vents: a low inlet vent below the heater, another inlet on the opposite wall about four inches higher than the first, and a high outlet vent near the ceiling.

The bottom line is there are many effective ways to manage ventilation. The 620-D serves as the adjustable outlet vent, allowing you to slide it back and forth to regulate the exhaust airflow. Typically, this vent remains closed during the heating period. Once the sauna reaches the desired temperature, you can open it slightly and adjust as necessary throughout your session. It’s a fascinating and crucial aspect of sauna design.

Remember, these are vent covers, which means you’ll need to create a cavity in the wall for both the inlet and outlet vents. This vent cover is designed to fit over the framed opening for the exhaust vent, neatly concealing it.
